The pair combined only moments later to bring Lion back into the game. The two pressed the Seymour back line well, Aymen nicking the ball off the defender before playing in Dorney for the finish. This was Dorney’s third goal in two games, bolstering his late surge for the golden boot.
Second Half
For the first ten minutes, the game remained even. The first chance of the second half fell to Aymen, after a good passage of short passing between full back George and Tom Ackroyd in midfield. After being played through, Aymen’s shot was diverted by a good recovery tackle from the Seymour centre half.
The next 10 minutes proved disastrous for Lion, who had played well up until this point. At 2-1, Seymour failed to add to their lead from the penalty spot, only to score a minute later. Two more goals quickly followed, with Seymour getting in behind the backline on several occasions and finding joy with the long ball.
With tired legs and 30 minutes yet to play, Lion struggled to get back into the game. More goals followed for Seymour, who extended their lead to 7-1.
